Bombay Perfumery—A Quirky Perfume Company You Probable Should Know About

They say that good things happen to you when you are making other plans. And this is how I crossed paths with this Mumbai-based perfume brand called Bombay Perfumery. But, why am I writing about them? I am etching my thoughts, because for a person who knows nothing about perfumes, I was really impressed with the quality of the products. They also opened my senses towards an accessory I have always neglected. And all the fragrances were poles apart from each other too.

Most importantly, as a lifestyle writer, I want perfume-heads/perfume enthusiasts to experience them—as simple, as that! Good things need to be shared, you see?

When I read about them I found out that Bombay Perfumery was a contemporary fragrance house. “Their Eau De Perfumes are Indian at heart, modern in aesthetic and unique in experience.”

I really liked how they use Indian ingredient to make something so refreshingly unique. Below are the “furious five” and my thoughts on them.

1020

A gingery and woody Eau De Perfume. Man, this variant made me happy. It’s light and it lingers! (well, all of them do). If you are looking for a perfumer this season that is smooth, this is the one for you.

Chai Musk

This one is my second favourite (I will come to my first favourite in a bit). It’s the perfect combination of citrus and musk and it has the fragrance of green tea in it. For a chai addict, there is nothing more I could ask for. It’s strong and prominent, and if your lady likes musk then… you get the drift!

Les Cayes

Les Cayes was too musky for my liking at first, but the more time I spent with it, the scent grew on me. This one’s for people who like their perfume on the woodier side!

Sulawesi

This one was my favourite. Woody and amber tones come together in a perfect blend. Also, this reminded me of a dear friend of mine. Oh! How I miss her!

Calicut

Spicy and woody, this is for people who want a sense of dynamics in their perfume. This one lingers quite a lot too. It also has minty overtones, perfect for a hot summer day.

I would also like to point out that the each sample contains 2 ml of perfume each, and lasts up to about 15 to 20 sprays (and more). Each variant comes in attractive little glass tube-like containers and they are crafted well too…just that the tubes were a tittle two small for my gigantic hands! All of the perfumes lasted me until the end of the day.

Hope this review helps you in finding that fragrance you were looking for!
