Forage—A Quaint Restaurant In Indiranagar That Serves Some Creative Continental Food

Let’s get right to it, Forage—is a restaurant in Indiranagar that serves well-thought continental cuisine.

At first glance, Forage feels more like a home than a restaurant—with its striking décor, and an alfresco area fit for a romantic date! Yes, if you are looking for a quiet romantic rendezvous, you might have found your place. Mood lights, slow jazz music playing in the background, and the food make this space an experience.

The menu here is an elaborate one, but creatively laid out, and different too. There were items in the menu we had never tried before, and we were beyond excited to sample them.

Cucumber Capers and Peanut Salad

We started with the Cucumber Capers and Peanut Salad. Slivers of cucumber and crunchy salad greens tossed in with crispy toasted seaweed, capers, and peanuts. The dish looked simple and tasted great. The cucumber, seaweed, capers, and peanuts came together into something interesting. Simple and refreshing, for sure.

Char-Grilled Vegetables

Next, we were served the Char-grilled Vegetables—charred peppers, marinated with a hint of chili and garlic laid on a puree crafted out of cauliflower. All the ingredients in the dish were well-balanced, had the right texture and came with a smoky flavour too. The cauliflower puree was so well made that at first tasting we thought it was condensed milk/mash potatoes! But we were corrected right away.

Piece of Cake

Then, there was this interesting item called Piece of Cake—steamed red cake of rice, topped with sautéed mixed vegetables and prawns, ended with a drizzle of coconut milk. The dish came together pretty well, the sweetness of the coconut milk combined with the nuttiness of the sesame leads and prawns made this one a flavour riot.

Chocolate Torte

We ended our quick gastronomic affair with a Chocolate Torte. This one was unlike any dessert we had ever tried before. Crushed almonds, chocolate, and orange zest bond together into a simple yet memorable dessert. You have to try it to understand what we are talking about. The fragrance of the orange zest hits you right when it’s placed on the table! A satisfying ending, for sure!

Forage is a place that believes in serving something different and worthwhile. Go here only if you are an adventurous eater, and you like trying out new things. Forage is all about simple (yet creative) continental cuisine served with some heart!
